In a game watched in the company of Mick Burt, RS Basingstoke took the lead in the 19th minute when Neil Green scored with a low 20-yard drive on the run sent into the bottom-right corner. They held their advantage to the interval despite Eton Wick hitting a post.

Now attacking the changing rooms end, the visitors extended their lead 10 minutes after the restart. Richard Kalwarczyk wrong-footed Russell Quelch on the edge of the area and sent a low shot into the bottom-left corner of the net.

With the light fading fast, Eton Wick pressed for a goal and pulled one back near the end through Jimmy Hartridge. Good work by Steve Wignall set up the chance and Hartridge stabbed the ball home in a goalmouth meleƩ.

Eton Wick Recreation Ground was fully railed off with no cover and boasted fine views to the east of Windsor Castle!
